With over 35 years of insurance company and consulting experience, Roger brings a keen understanding of insurance dynamics to our clients. Roger works directly with senior insurance company management and Boards to refine strategic goals and improve operational performance. His clients range from small companies in niche markets to companies ranked among the top 20. He also works with marketing groups, administrative companies and reinsurers to define opportunities and business relationships. Roger serves as both Appointed and Illustration Actuary for many client companies. He has significant expertise in life and annuity products and has been a frequent speaker on both Life and annuity issues for various trade associations.
Roger enjoys sports, movies/TV and annual trips to the Rockies with his family.

10/2010
Will speak at the Life Settlement Conference in Las Vegas sponsored by Deal Flow Media. Roger will speak on the topic: "Accounting Standards to Value Life Settlement Portfolios". His comments will reflect on the changing landscape for NAV determinations and why audited and regulatory reporting under international and US standards may not fully reflect actual portfolio value.

Spoke on the use of third party resources for informed investment and analysis of life settlement funds and longevity products at the Second Annual ILMA European Investor Summit: Continued Emergence of Longevity as an Alternative Asset Class in London.

2009
Appointed to the Actuarial Committee of Life Expectancy Best Practices to represent underwriting interests in defining mortality for actual to expected industry results. This is a committee appointed by the Life Insurance Settlement Association (LISA).

Appointed to the Society of Actuaries' Committee on Life Insurance Mortality and Underwriting Surveys. Roger will be particularly focused on the issue of mortality improvement. This committee provides ongoing research into industry practices and data available for definition of mortality curves.

Spoke on "Actuarial/Underwriting - Longevity / Mortality, Underwriting and Debiting Methodology" at Nordea Markets' Senior Life Settlements Investments Seminar in Stockholm, Sweden.

Addressed the LHATF Meeting in St. Louis. Roger spoke on Pre-Need Mortality.

Addressed the SOA 6th Annual Product Development Actuary Symposium in Henderson, NV. Roger spoke on "The Life Settlements Market".

As Chairman of the Project Oversight Group for the PreNeed Mortality Study, Roger presented an update on the new PreNeed Valuation Table to the NAIC Life & Health Actuarial Task Force (LHATF).

Served on the National Alliance of Life Companies (NALC) Board of Directors for a one year term.

Addressed the Life Insurers Council at their Annual Meeting in Palm Beach, FL. Roger spoke on "Actuarial Answers for the Pre-Need and Final Expense Company".

Addressed the Life & Health Actuarial Task Force, a subcommittee of the NAIC, at their Chicago meeting. Roger represented the Society of Actuaries in presenting progress of the Project Oversight Group for a new PreNeed Valuation Mortality Table.

Presented at the 2005 SOA Annual Meeting in New York City. Roger spoke on Life Settlements for the Senior Market (Session 126).

Addressed the PreNeed and Final Expense Forum of the Life Insurance Council in Atlanta. Roger spoke on "Realistic Mortality Assumptions for Pricing Final Expense and PreNeed Products".

Named to the Society of Actuaries Project Oversight Group for New Preferred Risk Valuation Mortality Tables.

Addressed the National Alliance of Life Companies at their spring convention in Rancho Mirage, California. Roger spoke on "Understanding Life Settlements and Their Impact on the Life Industry" and also provided an "Actuarial Update" in his role as Chairman of the Actuarial Committee.

Named to the Program Committee for planning the Society of Actuaries 2005 Annual Meeting in New York.

Named to the Society of Actuaries Project Oversight Group for designing a Pre-Need mortality experience study and evaluating the need for a new Pre-Need Valuation Mortality Table.
